PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message of condolence to former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, who lost his mother, Hajiya Rabi Umar Na’Abba.  The deceased was a sibling of the late Bashir Usman Tofa, a political associate of the President. In the condolence message, President Buhari described the death of a mother as a painful experience and prayed to Allah to console the former speaker and the larger Na’Abba family.

BANDITS have killed no fewer than four farmers and abducted over 100 others including women and children from 14 communities in Mashegu and Rafi local government areas of Niger State in the last three weeks. The bandits imposed N3 million tax on each of the communities as a condition to stop kidnapping them and to allow them to harvest their farm produce, only one of the communities had been able to pay. TROOPS of the Nigerian Army in a joint military operation involving air and ground components have killed three Boko Haram commanders including Khaids Abbah Tukur, Maimusari and Bakura Jega and at least a 100 more terrorists in Borno on Tuesday. Fidelity Bank, First Bank and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) are the first three banks leading as the best-performing commercial banks in Nigeria in the Q3 of 2022. An analysis of the banks’ equity and financials shows that the 13 banks made the sum of N298.84 billion as profit before tax between July and September of 2022, showing an increase of 29.9 per cent compared to N228.54 billion recorded the year before. THE Kaduna Police Command says its operatives have arrested a notorious gunrunner in the state. The police spokesman in the state, Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Jalige, who disclosed this on Sunday, December 25, identified the notorious bandit as 33-year-old Bilyaminu Saidu of Shuwaki village, Bakori local government area of Katsina State.
